72 members of the green business
community shared visions of the future and business cards by
candlelight while nibbling on sumptuous hors d'oervres in the
extraordinary lobby of Pankow’s newest
building January 24th, 2008. It was our fourth such business
event – and this one was a mixer defined.
Hugh
Groman Catering and Green
Leaf Platters created food that was as delicious as it
was eloquent in its presentation.
We held our mixer in the
lobby of the new building at 2101 Webster Street in Oakland,
a structure sculpted in large measure from recycled materials
and featuring the kind of energy and resource efficient features
that map out the future of clean green construction.
Our mixer on April 16, 2008 was SOLD OUT!

Consider
this: Since June, 2007 . . .
- We've organized
three major events aimed at helping people to reduce their
carbon footprint by leaning more about global warming and
directly connecting them with green and sustainable businesses
and non-profit organizations;
- We've published two local
green directories;
- We've
completely rebuilt our web site; and
- We've
sponsored five successful mixers, which help promote
green and sustainable business through networking;
- We've held a national
founding conference where our mission statement, objectives,
and membership rules were debated and approved by members;
- We have established
two chapters -- East Bay (San Francisco Bay Area), Phoenix,
AZ and are preparing to establish one in Marin County,
California;
- AND we are in contact with people interested
in establishing chapters in Chicago, Washington
D.C., Portland, Oregon and Los Angeles.
