PROP 39: Support California Sustainable Business and Clean Energy Jobs!
Endorsed by the Green Chamber of Commerce, Small Businesses, and Clean Energy Jobs proponents, Proposition 39 aims to change an unfair tax advantage that allows out-of-state business to pay lower taxes than businesses actually based in California!
Prop 39 would close this loophole by ensuring that all companies in California use a “single sales factor” approach based on the percentage of sales they make in state regardless of where they are incorporated. Not only would closing this loophole end the unfair advantage out-of state business have in California, but it would generate over 1 billion a year in returned state revenue and invest these funds in public efficiency and energy projects throughout the state.
These funds would be used to bring jobs and investment back to California in the form of public projects that improve our schools and public service buildings, put ten of thousands of Californians back to work, and save taxpayer dollars in lower energy costs. This is policy is already being followed by other large states such as New York, Texas and Michigan who have changed their tax laws to follow the “single sales factor” approach. California needs to be next. Read More >>>
